Looking for a personalized approach to men’s sexual health problems? The Boston Medical Group provides personalized assessment and treatment options for erectile dysfunction (ED) and premature ejaculation (PE) via The Boson Method. Most doctors provide a one-size-fits-all, “take two pills and call me in the morning” approach to treating male sexual dysfunction. The Boston Method was created using over 20 years of experience and research by Boston Medical Group’s worldwide team of physicians to help men get results based on thorough health screenings and personally-tailored treatment programs. The Boston Method places a special emphasis on three important factors: a confidential experience in the medical center, the evaluation of each patient’s medical history and diagnostic testing, and the determination of the most appropriate treatment options specifically for each patient.
Testing and Medical History Evaluations
There isn’t one cause of male sexual dysfunction. It can be caused by physical and/or psychological issues and is many times the symptom of a seemingly unrelated health issue. The Boston Method begins with a thorough health screening to help determine the root cause of each patient’s sexual performance issue before treatment options are explored.
Diagnostic Process
First, a Boston Medical Group physician will conduct a thorough evaluation of a patient’s medical history and then a psychological evaluation will follow. Next, the physician will perform diagnostic tests to assess penile heath to see if there are any hormonal, neurological or vascular problems relating to the organ itself. To make these assessments the attending physician will perform a Biothesiometry and a Doppler Ultrasound.
Biothesiometry assesses the afferent pathway of sensory innervations, screens for neurological damage such as neuropathy (commonly found in patients with diabetes) as well as confirm the cause of erectile dysfunction.
Doppler Ultrasound reveals the status of blood flow to the penis in response to certain stimulation and helps provide an accurate understanding of the vascular supply to the penile tissue and its integrity.
Medical Centers
Given their experience treating hundreds of thousands of men across the globe, Boston Medical Group has designed its medical centers with their patients’ comfort and privacy in mind. Every medical center is built with individual waiting rooms for a comfortable and private patient experience. Also, all visits are by appointment only to help curtail the foot traffic in the office at any given time. Further, all testing and treatment is done at the medical center so there is no need for patients to go outside for additional tests or treatment.

- Reaching orgasm before both partners are satisfied.
- The inability for a man to control his ejaculation.
How Common is PE?
PE is the most frequently reported sexual health problem for men under 40. Research shows that about one in three men are affected by PE to some degree.
What Causes PE?
Many men suffer from PE not because of a psychological problem but because they have an over sensitive glans penis (or the head) which causes them to be over stimulated during sex and climax earlier. Frequent occurrence of PE can lead to anxiety or fear of failure which can work to make the problem worsen over time. Sometimes, PE may occur concurrently with erectile dysfunction. If this is the case, Boston Medical Group will first work with a patient’s ED problem before addressing PE.
PE can be caused by the following biological problems:
- Hormonal imbalances
- Abnormal reflex activity of the ejaculatory system
- Thyroid issues
- Inflammation and infection of the urethra or prostate
- Neurotransmitter abnormalities
- Genetic abnormalities
Why Should PE Be Treated?
Sex is a very important part of healthy romantic relationships. PE can lead to feelings of guilt, anxiety, depression and have a profoundly negative impact on a man’s self confidence. Like any other medical issue, PE should be treated at its onset to prevent it from worsening over time. If you think you may be having difficulty lasting as long as you or your partner would like, make an appointment with the Boston Medical Group and they can have you back to peak sexual performance in as little as one visit!
